Magnets

Magnets are not near as powerful as the one I got 27 years ago. The led light is better than the old light.

I had one of these before but it disappeared so I bought another. The light is quite bright & the magnetic feet are very helpful

I do year round grilling which sometimes is in the later evenings...This is a bright light and has enough reach to cover my 36" Black stone nicely..

Super handy addition to my smoker

I actually bought this as a replacement. The previous unit was a slightly different design and it worked great but I left batteries in it too long and they completely corroded the interior. In my experience, the neck of the thing does rust a bit, but generally it all holds up well. As for "giftable", I would say this is an extremely nice gift for anyone who has a BBQ or smoker that's not in a very well lit area. Could also be used as a bench light for a tool bench or something like that. I wouldn't hate a version that had an even brighter light.
